My birthday is in two days
and all I can think about is how it won’t be the same. I want so badly for things to be different and for everything to just go back to the way they were. Mostly I don’t want to turn 20 because it just marks one more year that I’ll be moving on without my dad. One more year without going to his boat and celebrating in California. One more year without him singing happy birthday. One more year I won’t hear that he’s proud of me. I’m scared of getting older because that means more time has passed. Time that just promotes forgetting.
